June 17, 2008: Samson Carts® Leads The Way in
Material Handling Industry.
Samson Carts®, the patented
folding six-shelf library/file cart once again leads the
material handling industry by becoming the first and only
certified sustainable (green) product. Samson Carts
was designed to be a sustainable product to replace the
plywood and painted metal material handling carts found in
many industries such as moving, libraries and material
handling.
Samson Carts’ award comes after an eight-month study of its
sustainable design for the environment (DfE). MBDC
awards Cradle to Cradle Certification only after a rigorous
evaluation process that considers material safety and
reusability, water and energy consumption, pollution and
social equity.
Press Release >>

In our continued commitment to environmental concerns
ICB, LLC - Samson Carts recently joined the U.S. EPA Green Power
Partnership by purchasing Green-e certificates for the
energy we use. We purchase green power in amounts that
meet EPA’s requirements. We are very proud of this
milestone and the positive effects this will have on
developing renewable, sustainable energy.

March, 2008: Samson Carts® Passes
GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Tests!

In its commitment to
healthy indoor environments Samson Carts recently
underwent rigorous testing for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
and it was determined that Samson Carts meets acceptable
IAQ criteria!
for
low-emitting VOC,
contributing to a
healthier
environment for
offices, schools,
and healthcare
facilities.
Samson Carts is the
world's first
material handling
product to achieve
this distinction.
The testing included
total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) and individual
volatile organic compounds (VOCs) according to ASTM
Standard D 5116-06, the United States Environmental
Protection Agency USEPA IP-6A, and ASTM D 6670-01.
The test results indicate how the product’s emissions compare to
currently available GREENGUARD emission standards of the
SOW, World Health Organization (WHO), and the German
Federal Environmental Agency (Blue Angel Programs).
The product is not yet certified by The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI),
but the favorable test results indicate that Samson
Carts is low emitting and should be considered for
certification.
Samson Carts is
currently undergoing additional rigorous testing and
auditing for environmental and social accountability.
At Samson Carts we continually review the way we conduct business in the
light of changes in the social, environmental and
economic systems within which we operate, and the rapid
internationalization of business and corporate social
responsibility. Accordingly, we continue to review and
validate our design criteria, operational paradigms and
our impact on world systems.
Today we are very proud
of our progress. The successful IAQ testing and the
recent adoption of the Social Accountability
International SA8000 standard are two significant
milestones in our mission to be recognized as a designer
and manufacturer of truly global products.
